We are behind schedule in school. I'm starting to feel the pressure! We are a week behind in History, dangerously close to being behind in spelling, and very behind in math. (But we've been behind in math and you can't really move on until they are ready--so what can you do?)
I'm getting stressed is what I'm saying.
Then this morning I woke up with a sore throat and really didn't feel like reading History or Science or any of that out loud stuff. Sigh. We got some school done anyway, but I am not feeling very good about where we are.
So...of course you get up determined to get lots done and just ignore everything else, right?
Uh, no. Had to go to the grocery store. Taking Little Bit to get her pictures made this afternoon. Piano practice after that for Sweetheart.
Sigh.
Think if I record the lessons and play them while they sleep that would count?
Oh! Go check out my saving grace recipe on my other blog. It'll help your menu plan, I promise!
I totally feel you today!! More than you will ever know! Okay, you probably know!
ReplyDeleteI am right there sister girl! It is like I am being secretly PUNKED--- how many ways can I be pulled in order to NOT get the schooling done! It is crazy! I feel out of control!
ReplyDeleteBrenda, my friend,
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as being behind in homeschool. The pressure of perfection only comes from ourselves. Sure, set some goals; but it does not have to be a crisis because we did not finish that math book, or get to that lesson in science. The process is the learning, not how much to squeeze into our year. Now exhale, and realize that last history lesson wont change much, but...for fun... we can always follow up with it during the summer when they quickly say "I'm bored" =)
Just being me, and keepin' it simple,

thank you Sheri. I know you are right but ACCKK! I just feel like we should be a lot further along and next week is our family vacation. Maybe after that we will all be ready to dive back in with vengeance? Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteoh gooooood!! no offense, but now i feel better about the fact that i am behind too!
ReplyDeletei love that we are still both raising kids to be godly first.
that's what really counts, right??
