School Pictures

This week on the Not Back to School Bloghop over at Heart of the Matter, we are sharing our student's pictures.

Last year I ran across Sprittibee's simple idea of having her children hold up their fingers for what grade they were in. Only problem was, Little Bit was in Kindergarten last year. So, I did this:
Goin' to school barefoot just like Abe Lincoln!

Continuing the tradition, here are this year's first day of school photos:

Sweetheart, 5th grade.

Little Bit, 1st grade.

And one together. I love these girls so much.

  1. So, did I steal this from you last year? I don't even remember. I should be ashamed. Plan to do the same this year! Your students look so cutesy!

  10. I don't really think of my girls in terms of grade level - that varies across different content areas - but this is a really cute idea. And your girls are adorable. I'm at #7 on this week's list if you want to pop on over there. :^)

  11. Hi, Brenda. Thanks for visiting my blog. I just wanted to respond to your question about my daycare clients thoughts on homeschool. Yes, they're public school teachers, but one is a believer and so wholeheartedly supports it; the other family probably thinks I'm a little weird (lol - I am!), BUT they love having their daughter in a small home setting...and their girl is WAY "ahead" of same-aged peers cognitively so I know they're happy. They could have put her in K4 in public schools this year and saved a bunch of money, but they chose to keep her with me (I'm doing a homeschool K4 with her and the other girl, but it's essentially akin to private school tuition they're paying). Now each family is expecting a new baby...so I get to repeat with their new little ones. :^)

I don't get to talk to a lot of actual grown-ups during the day, so your comments make me really happy! :)
