This week I want us to share our weight timelines. What I mean is, start with your birth weight if you like and take us on a journey of your weight (good and bad) hitting the important stuff that has affected you along the way. You don't have to go into details of every year of your life...just give us the overview of the major events.
End your story by sharing what your end goal is. I think we have all come to the conclusion that this can't just be a little "project" or a "blog thing" that we participate in for a time. This has to become a healthier way of life. So, what will be the indicator for you of satisfaction? You know, people who suffer from anorexia don't have an ending point. It's never enough. Perhaps it's your blood pressure numbers, your cholesterol, your ability to run a certain number of miles, your jeans size...whatever. What will be the point where you can say, "There. I like where I am."
Whew! That's a lot to think about, isn't it? Good luck and see you next Friday!
You really want me to start with my birth weight??? Ok...
ReplyDeleteI promise to keep it short and sweet.
I have never really thought about an end point yet... will be good introspection.
My birth weight? Seven pounds. My weight has always gone up and down, but I have never been considered overweight (at times, I have even been underweight). After menopause, about 10 extra pounds jumped on me! Now the doc wants me to diet and exercise. How dull. Not successful. Then, groan, I had my gall bladder removed and CANNOT eat as much, nor can I eat many fats. Not even a temptation to do so, because I become violently ill. So, have lost the ten pounds. If I can stay at 150 and under, at age 55, I am happy. I am now 143. Great!
