I never even made my bed myself until after she died when I was in HIGH SCHOOL.

My kids need a little more info to go on. :0)JulieMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01217474724223801870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-28992721018719095982008-10-13T12:01:00.000-05:002008-10-13T12:01:00.000-05:00Great post, brenda. I certainly don't want my girls to enter their marriages as clueless as I was about being a wife, mother, and managing the home.Elspeth https://www.blogger.com/profile/17495546895657214080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-55309986357755705832008-10-13T11:32:00.000-05:002008-10-13T11:32:00.000-05:00Lol thanks now I understand. In fact, I encourage her to go do the things a four year old should be doing. However, I have always made a point to make her welcome in the classroom/at the table wherever we are doing school. Since we started (she was 3) she has wandered in and out--sometimes interested and sometimes not. I have playdough, beads, lacing cards, etc. at her disposal to do when she wants to. I try to have "lessons" ready also when she wants to "make a lapbook" or whatever else she requests. She still comes for Bible time--that's not optional. But honestly, until 1st grade--school is an option at our house! I want her to be a kid!Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13893224927335285415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-81068381611899324172008-10-13T08:37:00.000-05:002008-10-13T08:37:00.000-05:00I love your post, hey on Huckabee last night he ha...I love your post, hey on Huckabee last night he had 5 guests of 2 of them were CEO's of their own home! I thought it was very neat, he was so awesomely respectful and you can tell Huckabee really believes it is a full time job and respects those women!

I took Home Ec, I remember LOVING it but dont remember anything I learned?

But in honor of you today, Kaitlin is going to learn how to iron! Isn't allowing your little girl to decide on her own that she is going to drop out really just teaching her that she can do whatever she wants? If you decided she was to start some schooling, she can't just suddenly decide not to do it. Anyway, I'm just kind of curious about this.Katy-Anne Binsteadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15528465833214550644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-61370495138268696252008-10-12T23:09:00.000-05:002008-10-12T23:09:00.000-05:00That's good--I know my grandmother made sure her b...That's good--I know my grandmother made sure her boys could cook, iron, and sew buttons on! Boys eventually end up living somewhere too. I don't see why only girls should have a mandatory home ec class.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
