If we do 2 chapters in science in a week, and little else, I'm good with that, because there will be weeks we do a lot of math, or other subject. I'm so grateful that our core curriculum (Time4Learning) is so flexible. Congratulations on your addition in the works!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08784646366110943578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-61943746222121630972011-11-16T16:53:32.542-06:002011-11-16T16:53:32.542-06:00That was supposed to be a smiley face!! :)That was supposed to be a smiley face!! :)Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13893224927335285415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-7852345775855191512011-11-16T16:52:54.020-06:002011-11-16T16:52:54.020-06:00Thank you anonymous! As soon as baby comes, I'm calling summer for 3 months!!! :(Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13893224927335285415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-86912479699058694342011-11-16T16:02:26.666-06:002011-11-16T16:02:26.666-06:00First of all, Congratulations!! I can relate 100% to your pregnancy symptoms..I was so thankful for my 11 year old daugther helping with everything (homeschool with her 6 year old brother, laundry, picking up, cooking, you name it). It is such a blessing that you have an older daughter, plus it is only preparing her for her own family one day and her heart for serving others.
As far as schooling, DON'T be so hard on yourself...do what you can! Spend time preparing for the wonderful Blessing you are expecting and when your baby arrives don't try to do school at all. I am speaking from experience, there is a 6 1/2 year gap between my last two & it takes time to get into a groove, but IT IS OKAY! I have only been homeschooling for 2 years and it's a challenge with a newborn, just speaking from our experience. We tried to do school when the baby was 4 weeks, forget it...it took 2 months for us to really start again, and now it's sporadic throughout the day.
We use Sonlight (except for Bible & Math)...we stay on track, but usually eliminate (if we have life happening) Science, Some of the History, and Language Arts. Bible, Math, Reading happen everyday, for a 4 day week.
We take one day for errands, piano, appts, etc...
Take care of yourself & remember this is just a short season of life!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-4077169468742439032011-11-16T11:26:37.007-06:002011-11-16T11:26:37.007-06:00I try really, really hard to stay home at least 3-...I try really, really hard to stay home at least 3-4 days of the school week. Fridays I do errands and then once in a while an extra day during the week. Of course, some weeks it seems like we're running around every single day. That's just really, really hard, and on those weeks, we definitely don't get a full course load in.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09932119838113244830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686582774155973298.post-17156131930121584682011-11-16T10:46:51.177-06:002011-11-16T10:46:51.177-06:00We don't do every subject, every day. And, I try very hard to be home most days because that's the only way we keep to our schedule and on track. But, our fall is so busy with my husband's hunting schedule, so there is always something else to do to get him ready for that. I'm praying we make up for it in the spring.

So, stay encouraged!! We are just as behind as you! (Really, though, stay encouraged. That's what homeschooling is all about-- flexibility.) :)karlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12104801824445226420noreply@blogger.com
